o Knowledge and understanding: at the end of the course the student will be able to understand what imaging modalities may be used to depict an organ and system. The student will understand the basic anatomy of the different organs and systems. o Applied knowledge and understanding: at the end of the course the student will be able to apply the knowledge acquired to select the imaging modality more adequate for some specific situations and will have the tools to face different and unknown settings. o Judgment autonomy: at the end of the course the student will be able to critically evaluate the downside of the different imaging modalities by analyzing the contraindications in specific subset of subjects and pathologies with specific regards to well defined clinical scenarios. o Communication skills: at the end of the course the student will be able to communicate to the radiologist the imaging need for specific patients and clinical scenarios and define, together with the radiologist specialist, the best diagnostic path even for complex cases. o Ability to learn: at the end of the course the student will be able to learn the differential diagnosis and radiological appearance of several basic pathological processes by applying the basic concepts acquired throughout the course.
Prerequisiti
As pre-requisites there are the subjects of the traineeship in radiology course with specific regards to the ability to select the imaging modality more effectively depicting specific tissue and components of pathological processes (e.g. fat and liver steatosis) and to the ability to identify a medical image as being a X-ray, a CT, an MR or an ultrasound.
Metodi didattici
o The teaching is based on lectures enriched by specific clinic-radiological cases discussion. Power Point presentations are used to carry out the lectures.
Verifica Apprendimento
o The exam can only be taken by those who have attended at least 75% of the lesson hours. o Oral examination, in presence: three different sub-commissions for radiology, neuro-radiology and radiotherapy. Evaluation scale 0-30 (with laude). No materials are needed for the exam. The final grade will be the average of the three marks where the Radiology module will be weighted double. The final grade will be published on esse3 (where acceptance/refusal can be performed by the student).
