Being able to understand the rationale behind and perform a neurological examination; to propose a syndromic diagnosis and a diagnostic path to ascertain diagnosis according to current knowledge and guidelines. The student should also be ablo to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the course to the understanding of the molecular basis of pathologies and their possible medical and surgical treatments.
Prerequisiti
The Neurology course requires the student to have basic and introductory notions of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology and neuropharmacology, that they are preparatory to the topics covered in the teaching course.
Metodi didattici
The course is organized in frontal lectures, carried out through PowerPoint presentations, compemented with video sessions, which will help students to see practical examples of human diseases. This activity will also include integration with case studies and simulation approaches. In addition, the training activities will be integrated by in-depth seminars. Practical experience, consisting in internship activities are also foreseen in the Department of General Neurology and outpatient services.
Verifica Apprendimento
Oral examination. The final evaluation is based on the degree of depth and understanding of the topics presented and on the ability to integrate the knowledge acquired during the course. Two parts: Neurology + Neurosurgery It is possible to keep the grade obtained in one and take a re-examination in the other one Final mark = (neurology *5 + neurosurgery) / 6 30 cum laude = 31. Final grades are communicated to the student, and then released through the official platforms.
