Aim of the course is to acquire the basic clinical information on a number of clinically relevant infections, their diagnosis and clinical management.
Prerequisiti
The students are expected to brush up their notions of clinical microbiology (classification of microrganisms, viruses, bacteria, parasites) and the main anttimicrobial agents (antiviral, antibacterial and antiparasitic drugs) and their mechanisms of action. The lectures will revolve around a number of viral, bacterial and parasitic diseases, their epidemiology, diagnosis, clinical manifestations and treatment
Metodi didattici
Lectures, presentation of clinical cases, bedside teaching during the ID ward rounds. Students may present clinical cases they have found interesting to fellow students and ID residents and present papers during the weekly ID journal club

Viva or a mix of multiple choice quiz tests and open ended questions on clinical presentations (clinical vignettes) or diagnosis and treatment of the main infectious diseases
