Syllabus
Obiettivi Formativi
This course aims at developing knowledge and understanding in several key areas of clinical psychology and neuroscience:
a) Advanced comprehension of theoretical models and the interpretation of experimental data with reference to the most common neuropsychological disorders resulting from brain lesions and to neuroimaging techniques and their application in clinical neuropsychology.
b) Profound understanding of the methods and experimental techniques employed within the field of clinical neuropsychology: assessment instruments, rehabilitative techniques, and methods in neuroimaging (lesion mapping and analysis).
c) Ethical and deontological awareness necessary for conducting experimental procedures in the area of clinical neuropsychology and neuroscience.
Furthermore, the course aims to cultivate the ability to apply this knowledge and understanding effectively by:
a) enhancing proficiency in executing and assessing applications within experimental contexts in the area of clinical psychology and neuroscience.
b) advancing students’ competencies in executing and evaluating applications within clinical environments in the area of clinical psychology and neuroscience.
c) promoting of critical thinking, analytical prowess, and the synthesis of ideas in the area of clinical psychology and neuroscience.
d) using ethical principles in practical applications and research endeavors in clinical psychology and neuroscience.

Prerequisiti
The course prerequisites include basic knowledge of the neural basis of human behaviour.
Metodi didattici
This course will adopt various learning methods, blending traditional lectures with experiential learning activities, group discussions, and practical exercises. The course aims to provide a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages active student participation and promotes a deep understanding of neuroimaging techniques and their clinical application.
Verifica Apprendimento
The exam will be written and oral. The written examination will consist of 30 multiple-choice questions. Each question is worth 1 point, and the total grade will be between 0 and 30. The written exam will last 45 minutes. The minimum score to access the oral exam is 18/30. The oral exam will cover all the topics discussed during the course. The students' grades will be determined by the accuracy and clarity of their answers, as well as their ability to explain and critically apply the concepts taught throughout the course. The final score will be the mean between the written test and the oral exam.
