Obiettivi Formativi
Obiettivi formativi e risultati di apprendimento OBIETT_FORM 8000 Sì This course aims to develop knowledge and understanding in several key areas related to research methods in developmental psychology:
a) A strong comprehension of the foundational research designs used in developmental psychology, including cross-sectional, longitudinal, and sequential methods.
b) A solid grasp of the various data collection techniques (e.g., observations, interviews, experimental tasks) relevant to different age groups, from infancy through adulthood.
c) A clear understanding of the ethical considerations and processes required for conducting research with children and vulnerable populations.
Furthermore, the course aims to cultivate the ability to apply this knowledge and understanding effectively by:
a) Enhancing students’ competence in designing and evaluating developmental research studies.
b) Promoting critical thinking skills to assess the strengths, limitations, and implications of existing developmental psychology studies.
c) Encouraging ethical reflection and practical application of research methods, taking into account real-world developmental challenges.
d) Advancing students’ ability to synthesize research findings and apply them in practical and academic contexts.

Prerequisiti
Prerequisiti PREREQ 8000 No The course prerequisites include no prior specific knowledge in (developmental) psychology, it is accessible to a general student population. However, students with a basic understanding of psychology or research methodology will find it easier to engage with the course material.
Metodi didattici
The teaching methods will include a combination of lectures and interactive activities. Students will engage with research paradigms, analyze real-world examples, and participate in discussions and group projects to design their own developmental research studies. The course will emphasize active participation to enhance critical thinking and research skills.
Verifica Apprendimento
The exam will be a written assessment consisting of open-ended and multiple-choice questions. Open-ended questions will assess the students’ ability to critically analyze and apply concepts from the course. Multiple-choice questions will test knowledge of fundamental research designs, data collection methods, and ethical considerations.
