The paper in the first place outlines the basic deontologic principles of journalism and in the second place deals with the deontology of scientific journalism, aiming to show the relevance of Popper’s criterion of falsifiability for a detection of non-scientific approaches. Deontological principles can throw light on the correct journalistic treatment of conspiracy theories.
