Culture-nature interfaces vis-à-vis reconnecting cultural landscapes and heritage: an Asian scenario

The concept of ‘cultural landscape’ is conceived as a way of visualising the landscapes (clairvoyance) and their associated attributes that reflect the interaction between human sensitivity (deep quest) and nature’s sublimity (inherent spirit), which passes overtime on the path of maintaining existence-continuity-transformation and transferability. Sacred Landscapes provide a deep sense of place and identity: places possess sacred messages, the place speaks, and place talks; they map our relationship with the Earth over succession and transformative process in time, thus symbolising, perceived results into the formation of the cosmic frame. A recent march in this direction, called—RWYC, ‘Reconnecting With Your Culture’ refers to a visionary mission of awakening the youth to prepare for the global understanding and Environmental Conscience, human services, and preserving our cultural heritage in the cosmic frame of Nature-Culture interfaces through the quality & deeply-rooted Education and dialogues: a march re-appraising interconnectedness between Locality and Universality – Holiness to Wholeness. This encourages human sensitivity to march from realisation (anubhava in Sanskrit) to revelation (anubhuti in Sanskrit). Think cosmically, see globally, behave regionally, and act locally but insightfully; this appeals to shared wisdom in making our heritage landscapes a mosaic of happy, peaceful, and sustainable places. The paper appraises these issues, illustrating Asia and some similarities with the West.
