Abstract:
Incomplete ST-segment resolution (ISTR) is a marker of failed myocardial reperfusion in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI).1 Glycoprotein IIb-IIIa inhibitors (GPIs) improve microvascular perfusion,2 but their use increases the risk of bleeding;3,4 therefore, they are currently recommended only as a bailout treatment.5
We aimed to create and to validate a numerical score to predict ISTR occurrence in patients with STEMI undergoing pPCI, and to evaluate its usefulness in patients receiving GPIs.
