Abstract:
In this study a series of tests exploring spatial and temporal orientation, language, reading, writing and drawing,
numbers and calculation, memory, body schema and executive functions has been standardized on an
Italian population of 603 children aged 6-14 years. Raw scores have been adjusted for key variables (child’s
age, parents’ education) and a cut-off for the global cognitive score has been made available for clinical
practice, as for adults (Mini-Mental State Examination, Folstein, 1974). This study was promoted by the Italian
League Against Epilepsy (LICE) in order to provide new instruments to evaluate cognitive impairment in developmental
age populations.
