The objective of the professionalizing practical traineeship is to introduce the student in clinical practice in contact with the patient, in such a way that he/she can attend an adequate number and variety of procedures (level 1 of learning ) or can implement them personally under close monitoring of the structured staff (level 2 of learning) in all cases allowed by the current health legislation. As a result of attending traineeship, the student is expected to acquire an adequate level in the three components of the: 1) Knowledge: correlation between the theoretical notions acquired during medical studies and their application in the clinical reality of the individual patient. 2) Knowing how to do: direct experience of the most fundamental clinical manual skills, performed where possible in first person or - in more complex cases - seen performed by the structured medical staff. 3) Knowing how to Be: acquisition of the necessary empathy with the patient, gained in the direct relationship. Course Prerequisites
Prerequisite to acceed in the clinical cases activities is simply to be enrolled in the 5th year of training
Teaching Methods
Participation in all departmental activities, followed by a staff tutor: daily clinical meetings, round visits, outpatient activities, activities in the operating room.
Assessment Methods
Final evaluation by the tutor on the basis of what observed during the internship (punctuality, attention, answer to questions during the tour, evaluation of manual dexterity, empathy with the patient, etc.) formulated according to the indications of TPV: a = great ; B = good; C = fair; D = sufficient; E = insufficient
