Students will develop specific know-how of diagnosis and management of surgical diseases of the upper GI tract. In particular the course will focus on esophago-gastric diseases and on bariatric and methabolic surgery.
Course Prerequisites
Knowledge of basic anatomy of the regions of interest, of related physiology of organs and apparatuses. Undertanding of principle of diseases development and progress, as well as of the mechanisms of healing.
Teaching Methods
Interactive classroom sessions, extensive practical work, group discussions, and assignments are critical elements of the learning structure. Most of the seminars introduced to the students are based on SIMULATED CLINICAL SCENARIOS that form the core of training our students’ knowledge through clinical judgement and practical decision-making process.
