The aim of the course is to study the various proceedings under the jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court. In particular, the Court's functions will be explored in relation to the protection of fundamental rights.

The course covers the discipline of constitutional process in the various proceedings under the jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court. The program therefore includes the following topics: an introduction to constitutional justice; the sources of constitutional adjudication; incidental adjudication; principal adjudication; decisions in adjudication of the constitutionality of laws; conflicts of jurisdiction between state powers; conflicts of jurisdiction between the state and the regions; impeachment proceedings; and the admissibility of abrogative referendums. The aforementioned constitutional justice issues will be addressed, including from a comparative perspective, from the privileged perspective of the protection of fundamental rights: from the perspective of relations with the Court of Justice of the European Union and the ECHR; from the perspective of adjudication and decision-making techniques; and through an in-depth analysis of some recent case law of particular significance and importance for the protection of fundamental rights.
