A) OF KNOWLEDGE (to know) • Provide permanent specialist training in pediatric dentistry and promote theoretical-practical learning of the most recent acquisitions in the diagnostic and therapeutic framework of the young patient with regards to odontostomatological problems, including behavioral approach and management techniques; • promote scientific and technical updating, with the acquisition of the ability to organize specialist practices dedicated to pediatric dentistry; • promote disciplinary expertise that is able to offer a specialized service from an interdisciplinary and cooperative perspective.
B) OF COMPETENCE (know-how) • Talk to the patient • Draw up the medical record • Carry out a clinical examination of the young patient • Define the diagnosis and treatment plan of the main dental-periodontal pathologies in pediatric age. • Interact positively with the young patient and his parents • Use fluoride and varnishes in the prevention of carious pathology • Use of sealants • Teaching oral hygiene
