Main aim of the course is to deepen the knowledge of the different developmental domains in the light of the most recent and pivotal theories and empirical researches in order to provide the student with a reliable orientation on principal cues in both typical and atypical development. A realted aim is to provide means in order to be able to identify suitable interventions and to know some of the most reliable evidence based interventions with family and children. Learning objectives: The student, at the end of this course, is expected to be able to know how to identify typical and atypical developmental cues and to know differences among reliable interventions suitable for different periods of development.
Course Prerequisites
Knowledge acquired by attending a Basic Developmental Psychology Course. All basic knowledge in the key developmental domains across the life-cycle are requested, i.e. perception, cognition, neurodevelopment, socio-emotional, moral.
Teaching Methods
Lectures, presentation of videotaped material, assessment tools, discussion in large and smaller groups, individual reading and classroom discussion of leading international journal articles. All exams are written; 25 questions in multiple choice format exams and one open question It's suggested to reject the vote assigned maximum once, if needed
