Syllabus

Course Objectives

Learning of theoretical reference frameworks and current rehabilitation approaches based on motor learning.

Acquire knowledge of a multidisciplinary and integrated approach to intervention

Acquire knowledge in designing a rehabilitation project that considers the type, severity, and age of the child with cerebral palsy.

Role of aids and orthoses.

Course Prerequisites

Knowledge of the clinical and neurofunctional aspects of cerebral palsy in children.

Knowledge of the main symptoms and adaptive functions involved in such disorder

Teaching Methods

Traditional lecture with examples on the clinical cases

Discussion of heterogeneous clinical cases by form of cerebral palsy and severity

Guidance on how to evaluate and define short and long term objectives (rehabilitation project versus rehabilitation program)

Clinical case discussion will receive special attention
