The Course is aimed at providing students with the main notions regarding pathophysiology and clinics of the Diseases of Metabolism. Particular emphasis will be given to methodological aspects, which are useful to attain a clinical diagnosis.
Course Prerequisites
No preparatory exams are required. However, students must possess or acquire a proper preparation in physiology, medical semeiotics and pathology
Teaching Methods
The Course is divided in three modules, diseases of endocrine system, diseases of metabolism and endocrine surgery and includes frontal teaching activities and clinical practice in the outpatients and inpatients endocrine-metabolic clinics. The teachers are available, in the schedule of reception, for explanations on the matters treated at lesson
Assessment Methods
The exam is oral for the modules of diseases of endocrine system, diseases of metabolism. It is written (30 multiple choice in a 30 minutes test) for endocrine surgery. The final grade will be calculated according to the credits of each module. During the exam the skill achieved and the learning objectives in each module, as well as the appropriate scientific dictionary will be evaluated.
