The course aims to explore the special part of the Criminal Code. Offences will be examined in the light of the general theory of crime and by considering the case-law and doctrinal elaboration. The course thus aims to provide an in-depth knowledge of the basic concepts of criminal law and the capacity to apply them properly.
Course Prerequisites
An adequate knowledge of the general part of criminal law is required.

Lectures and in-depth discussions on case law.
Assessment Methods
The examination consists of an oral test, aimed at verifying the knowledge of the contents of the law and the mastery of the fundamental institutions of criminal law.

Contents
The course aims to contribute to the achievement of some of the objectives of the UN Agenda 2030, with particular attention to goal 3, 4, 5, 11, 16. After a reconstruction of the main features of the special part of the Criminal code, also in terms of the criminal policy pursued in recent years, the course will focus on: "Crimes against the person" (e.g. crimes against life and personal safety; crimes against honour; crimes against the individual personality and new forms of slavery; stalking; rape; abuse of the means of correction and family abuse); "Crimes against property" (e.g. theft, robbery, extortion, fraud and usury); "Crimes against public administration committed by public officials" (e.g. crimes of embezzlement, bribery, abuse of authority).
