The course aims to offer tools aimed at understanding the function of transmission and conservation of classical culture carried out by medieval libraries, for the period between the 4th and 15th centuries.
Course Prerequisites
Knowledge of Latin and civil society. Notions of medieval and humanistic literature
Teaching Methods
Frontal lessons Visits to libraries, archives and exhibitions
Assessment Methods
Oral examination. The learning outcomes will be evaluated on the basis of the ability to demonstrate an adequate knowledge of the cultural processes of the Middle Ages, of the philological methodology and of the proposed critical bibliography. The evaluation will also take into account the ability to argue and formulate an independent judgment on what has been read and analyzed through the use of appropriate language and terminology.You will be asked to fill in a manuscript file to be sent to the teacher before the exam.
