Course Objectives
Learning objectives
The main objective of the course is to provide knowledge and skills related to educational psychology used in different life contexts. Specifically, the most recent theoretical perspectives of the discipline will be presented and analyzed through the analysis of the different cognitive, affective and relational components in relation to its specific context, focusing on the relationship between psychological development and education.
In particular from the main epistemological conceptual frameworks and methodological approaches used in educational psychology, students will be able to acquire accurate and rigorous knowledge and tools relating to non-specific aspects of the school context, such as the main psychological functions underlying learning, scholastic motivation, the social and relational dimension of learning, as well as the role of the teacher within the educational relationship. In order to give a greater professional value, specialized modules will be proposed in interactive mode and in small groups to introduce students to become familiar with planning activities in the following areas: socio-emotional development, bullying and cyberbullying, giftedness and development of potential, orientation and media education. The contents of the course are similar to projects activated by the Italian Laboratory for Research and Development of Talent, Potential and Giftedness. www.labtalento.it
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
a) know the main authors and theories of developmental psychology
b) know prevention and intervention programs for the promotion of individual well-being
c) know how to identify signs and risky behaviors in educational contexts
d) know how to use tools and repertoires for evaluating the effectiveness of intervention
e) familiarity with educational planning both from a prevention and contrast perspective
f) have a good capacity for critical analysis in reading educational situations

The exam consists of a written test (up to 15 points) and an oral test (up to 15 points) relating to all the contents of the program.
Students who attend classes regularly (at least two thirds) can replace the oral exam with a seminar activity on one of the proposed modules: the work will be presented and discussed in class with a series of slides (evaluated up to 5 points) and will be accompanied by a short report (up to 10 points).
