The course aims to illustrate, through one or more remarkable examples, one of the major genres of Italian literature in the Renaissance period.
Course Prerequisites
Good knowledge of the main authors and themes of Italian literature of the Renaissance and of the methods of analysis of literary texts.
Teaching Methods
Lectures. Handouts will be given during classes that will be part of the subjects that the final exam will deal with.
Assessment Methods
Oral exam, focused both on the history and texts of the Italian literature in the Renaissance as presented in the textbooks, and on the contents of the course. The students will be asked to give a full reading and a genetic, rhetoric and stylistic commentary of the texts.
