Giorgio Caproni, Il seme del piangere The aim of the course is a reconstruction of Giorgio Caproni's poetic journey: from the peripheral debut (Come un'allegoria, “32); to the 'minor” hermetism (from Ballo a Fontanigorda to Cronistoria, 1938-'43); up to the “metaphysical” turning point of Stanze per una funicolare (1952) - experiences summarised and enriched in the self-anthological book Il passaggio di Enea (1956). With particular attention, from this perspective, to Il seme del piangere (1959). In particular, we will focus on the central section, Versi livornesi, a transfigured novel of the life of his mother Anna Picchi.
