The course aims, on the one hand, to provide the essential elements of knowledge and understanding of labour law and, on the other hand, to offer specialised notions of health and safety in labour relations. The term 'safety' is broadly conceived, in the dual dimension of 'safety' and 'security'. At the end of the course, therefore, the student is expected to be able to retrace the collective rules applicable to an employment contract, identifying, from this and the contract, the reciprocal obligations of the parties, as well as to understand the fundamental aspects of the system for protecting the health and safety of workers
Course Prerequisites
Prerequisites: Constitutional Law and Institutions of Private Law. In particular, it is essential that the student knows at least the Italian system of sources and has a basic knowledge of the civil law discipline of obligations and contracts in general

Lectures, seminars, analysis of practical cases, exercises to be carried out in class.
Assessment Methods
The examination will take place in oral form and will consist of an interview to ascertain the understanding of legal problems, and their solutions, relating to the subjects dealt with in the course.

Contents
The course will consist of three parts. The first part will be devoted to an illustration of the sources of discipline typical of the subject, with particular attention to collective agreements. The second part will focus on the main rights and obligations stemming from the individual labour relation (fidelity, diligence, wage, jus variandi...). The third part will focus on the safety and security profiles involved in the subject and on the instrument designed to protect such sensitive interests: for instance, health and safety in the workplace, working time regulation; the protection of company data and secrets also with respect to the limits of the employer's power of control, the fight against illegal working conditions, work in (sub)contracting chains.
