The course aims to provide students with the main notions of criminal law, both with reference to the general part of the criminal code, and with reference to the areas of the special part and the complementary laws that are most important from the point of view of prevention and safety in business.
Teaching Methods
The course consists mainly of lectures.However, there will also be discussions and debates between lecturers and students, especially in relation to the more practical aspects of the different topics
Assessment Methods
The examination consists of an oral test. Students will be asked to demonstrate their knowledge of the topics covered in the lectures. They should also assimilate and re-elaborate the information contained in the materials, making the appropriate logical connections. Clearness of presentation and correct use of the technical language of criminal law will also be assessed.

Contents
The course is divided into two sections. The first section focuses on the most relevant concepts of the general part of criminal law. In particular, the course examines the fundamental principles of criminal law, the sources and the scope of criminal law, the structure of the offence, attempt and conspiracy, penalties and the other main dogmatic categories affecting the application of criminal law. The second section deals with the offences that most affect corporate life. Among the various topics covered by the course are corporate offences, offences against property, offences against public faith, and the criminal liability of organisations.
