1. Reach the so-called Level B2 of the European Framework of Reference, i.e., the level of "independent user". The student should be able to use the main structures of the language with confidence, own a wide range of vocabulary and use appropriate communication strategies in a variety of social situations; 2. Acquire and use independently the basic technical and scientific vocabulary in the pharmaceutical field . Students must demonstrate that they know how to read and understand scientific texts of various types using the techniques of skimming and scanning. Students must also be able to write short reports, articles and compositions of a scientific nature.
Course Prerequisites
A language proficiency at or above level B1+ according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)
Teaching Methods
We will use the educational methods of contemporary language teaching: lectures, interactive lessons, reflection on language, reflection on the vocabulary, ESP
Assessment Methods
The final exam will be a written paper consisting of two parts. The first part will concern the scientific texts analyzed during the course, with gap-fill and matching exercises, True or False, multiple choice questions. The second part of the exam is based on the content of the ADL course. The assessment will be a pass-fail exam.

When required and by appointment, the professor will commit to provide students with two hours of on line reception per week, and with the most suitable material for exam preparation. Additional language support is provided by the ADL , a mother tongue teacher, who runs an English language remedial and enhancement course (general English and medical English), with face-to-face classes and online tutoring.
