At the end of lectures it is expected, in general, a remarkable improvement in oral communication skills of student. More in particular, it is expected that student will be able to get more self-confident and powerful in public speaking; and therefore he will be able to make more convincing contents of his speeches, timber of his voice and his whole rhetoric attitude in all his relations one-to-one and one-to-many.
Course Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of italian language.
Teaching Methods
Theoretical acquisition (by frontal and engaging lectures) and practical experimentation (by practices directly in lecturehall) of principal elements of public speaking and classical oratory. For preparation of practical examination it is offered a tutoring service during and after periodo of lectures.
Assessment Methods
- For students attending lectures: 1) practical examination consisting in a speech agreed with teacher during lectures and tutoring or 2) written examination by test of 30 multiple choice questions about contents of lectures and of book n.3 published in this Syllabus, lasting 30 minutes and passed by at least 18 correct answers. - For students not attending lectures: oral examination by conversation about contents of books n.1, n.2 and n.3 published in this Syllabus. - Attending lectures or tutoring is not mandatory, but only students who have attended lectures and tutoring will be admitted to have a particular examination, consisting in a speech done without reading of maximum 5 minutes agreed with the professor during lectures and tutoring.
