The course illustrates to students the ways in which companies rationally define their behaviors to pursue the business goals defined. In particular, the course aims to provide students with the fundamental elements for understanding how companies operate. Additionally, students will be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to make managerial decisions within companies, regardless of their size, operating in highly competitive, dynamic, and uncertain global contexts.
By the end of the course, students should have acquired relevant knowledge and skills necessary to develop accurate strategies and business plans suitable for ensuring the success of companies in today's global business.

During the course, students will be invited to participate in a business competition promoted by the Italian Management Society (SIMA). Participation in the competition is optional.
Assessment Methods
- Written Exam (multiple choice questions on the textbook - all chapters - and the slides used during lectures).
The exam is based on 31 multiple-choice questions. Each correct answer is worth 1 point. Incorrect answers will incur a penalty of 0.20 points each.
The questions aim to assess both understanding and comprehension of the topics covered during the lectures.
The duration of the written exam is 45 minutes.
There are no in itinere assessments.
- GROUP WORK (OPTIONAL - maximum 3 points to be added to the final score of the written exam).
Note that the points obtained in the group work will be considered valid only after reaching the minimum score of 18/30 in the written exam.
Grading Scale: the grading scale ranges from 0 to 30 cum laude, with passing the exam requiring a minimum score of 18/30.
Useful materials for the test: calculator and dictionary.
Communication of results: the result of the exam will be communicated through the esse3 system. Acceptance or rejection of the grade must occur in accordance with the current academic regulations of the University.
