Course Objectives

The course opens with a reflection on the concept of sustainability, seeking student involvement to stimulate an open dialogue on their perception of "sustainability".

It continues through an analysis of the historical evolution of the value of sustainability and how this has influenced the generation of new business models.

An excursus about the International political commitment and the definition of the SDGs of the 2030 Agenda.

The following hours will be dedicated to the analysis of the E - S - G verticals, through the study of practical examples and dedicated classroom exercises, which will lay the foundations for corporate non-financial reporting: the Sustainability Report.

Then there will be a focus on the reporting metrics of the ESG pillars: from GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) standards to ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards).

Notes on the CSRD - Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.

The course concludes with a Hackathon that involves the drafting of a Sustainability Report for an agrifood sector by drawing lots to be done in groups and with the help of AI tools.
This project work will provide the student with the qualification for the course attended.
