Course Objectives


Aim of the course is to provide key basic concepts on hygiene, preventive medicine and public health, with particular reference their application in dietitian.

Course Prerequisites

General understanding of epidemiology, health and its determinants

Teaching Methods

Lectures and case studies. Utilisation of interactive presentation platforms (e.g. Wooclap)

Assessment Methods


Oral or written examination according to the needs of appeal

Contents

Elements of epidemiology applied to the areas of interest in dietetics: data sources and surveillance systems, measures of frequency and effect, study designs, data interpretation
