To comprehend the psychobiological mechanisms underlying musical cognition and its relationship with different cognitive systems

Contents

Music stimulates 3 major categories of processes, notably those related to cognition, emotion and action.
By following the path of the sound signal from the inner ear to the different subcortical layers up to the cortical areas,
I will present how these processes constantly interact, how musical sound takes on meaning and acquires considerable psychological
power for human beings.
