The main objective of the BLSD course is to acquire the cognitive and methodological tools and skills necessary to recognize, in an adult patient, unconsciousness, respiratory arrest and absence of pulse in a condition of absolute safety for the rescuer, for the rescued person and for bystanders. In order to intervene effectively, it is necessary to optimize the intervention time, to standardize and order the evaluations to be carried out and the actions to be taken within the so-called chain of survival.
Course Prerequisites
The BLSD Executor Course is part of the basic emergency response training in the population.
Teaching Methods
Theoretical frontal lessons; Practical training stations on simple techniques in small groups on mannequins; Simulation islands (low fidelity) of complete scenarios.
Assessment Methods
The learning assessment includes an ongoing assessment of the ability to perform CPR techniques.
