Syllabus

Course Objectives

The aim of the course is to teach the etiological, diagnostic and therapeutic principles of the main arterial and venous vascular surgical pathologies. Particular attention is paid to the aspects of greatest professional nursing interest.

Course Prerequisites

Adequate knowledge of the principles of human anatomy and physiology and in particular of the circulatory system is required.

Teaching Methods

Online teaching with slides and bibliographic material.

Assessment Methods

The final exam will consist of a written test consisting of multiple choice questions on the topics of the lessons.
The use of the PC and additional time (+30%) are foreseen for patients with special educational needs (BES).

Contents

The program is divided into the main topics of Vascular Surgery. In particular, the following will be discussed: cerebrovascular disease, peripheral arterial disease, acute limbs ischemia, aneurysms, venous thromboembolism, surgical wounds. The etiopathogenetic bases and the clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic principles will be explained. In particular, the role of healthcare professions in patients affected by these vascular surgical pathologies will be highlighted.
