The teaching aims to know the classification of rheumatologic diseases; to be able to distinguish the differences between inflammatory and degenerative rheumatologic diseases; to know the main types of chronic inflammatory arthritis ; to know the main systemic connectivitis and vasculitis; and to know the principles of treatment of rheumatologic diseases. Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to identify the clinical complexities of major rheumatologic diseases and understand the rationale for different therapeutic approaches.
Course Prerequisites
Fundamentals of general pathology, with special reference to pathology of the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems. Fundamentals of pharmacology are also appropriate.
Teaching Methods
Sharing of slides commented by the lecturer on course topics. Sharing of updated bibliographic material from international scientific journals (references and full text in Italian or English).
Assessment Methods
Written test: test of 15 multiple-choice questions (with 3 or 4 answer choices and only one correct answer) Credits: 1 CFU Students with BES will be provided extra time (+25%) for test completion
