The course aims to stimulate reflection, autonomously and in teams, on the main themes of bioethics, in order to acquire the tools necessary to adopt ethically responsible behavior in professional practice, through knowledge of the values that guide the nursing profession, also in relation to knowledge of the available resources and the system in which one operates. We also aim to promote responsibility and ethical decision-making in daily activities. The student will learn to communicate with patients, relatives and colleagues in a correct, profitable and effective manner, and to document care activities with awareness.
Course Prerequisites
Ability to use the most popular biomedical search engines (google, google scholar, pubmed) and presentation software of your choice (power point, canva, keynote, google presentations..)
Teaching Methods
The course takes place partly through frontal lessons (using Power Point presentations, made available to the students) and partly through the presentation by the students (in small groups who will work in teams) of in-depth articles and clinical cases and the collective discussion of the same.
Assessment Methods
The learning assessment takes place in mixed mode: 1) Ongoing test: presentation by the students, divided into groups, of an in-depth article or clinical case chosen by the teacher. Through teamwork, students will construct a presentation which they will discuss briefly (10-15 minutes) followed by discussion with the class. The group will receive an evaluation out of thirty based on the quality of the presentation, the language, the completeness and organization, originality of the proposed discussion topics. The exam is considered passed with a minimum score of 18/30. 2) Written exam lasting 1 hour containing 30 multiple choice questions (4 options each) and a final open question with a summary response. The missing or wrong answer is worth 0 points, the right answer is worth 1 point. The student who does not make errors receives a grade of 30 cum laude (corresponding to 31 points), for each answer not given or incorrect one point and corresponding grade is deducted. THE AVERAGE OF THE MARKS OF THE TWO TEST WILL CONSTITUTE THE FINAL MARK
