The main objective of the course is to provide knowledge of the most important and significant phenomena of the sexual and reproductive cycle of women. The expected learning outcomes are the following: - knowledge of the anatomical and functional changes induced by pregnancy and the different steps of the birth process - knowledge of the main phases of adaptation to extra-uterine life of the newborn at term - knowledge of the most important aspects to promote correct support of breastfeeding - knowledge of the main pictures of obstetric pathology - ability to apply the knowledge acquired in counseling activity
Course Prerequisites
Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology of the female reproductive system. Understanding the concept of health and the educational interventions to be implemented to pursue it
Teaching Methods
Frontal lessons, film about Ceasarian section and eutocic birth.
Assessment Methods
Oral exam: regular session July (2 exams); regular session September (1 exam); make-up session December (1 exam); make-up session January and June (1 exam per month) reserved only for students from previous years and not from the current year. Students with BES have the same exam modality, they are invited to contact the teacher for the use of concept maps.
