General objective: to understand the physiology and pathology of aging in order to implement the best possible care strategies for the elderly, in the various care settings. At the end of the course, the student will be able to recognize and manage the main geriatric syndromes, in order to plan the most suitable care interventions for the complexity of the elderly person. Specific objectives 1 Create the habit of a geriatric approach 2 understand the complexity and management strategies, the use of multidimensional assessment 3 develop specific skills towards the main geriatric syndromes
Course Prerequisites
Understanding the topics covered in the course requires basic knowledge of human anatomy and patophysiology.
Teaching Methods
Lessons in the classroom with slide support. Interactions e simulatex exercises.
Assessment Methods
Learning assessment is done through a written test with 31 questions/quizzes with a single correct answer. Correct answers are worth 1 points, incorrect or non-given answers are worth 0 points. To pass the test, a score of 18/30 is required.
