Syllabus

Course Objectives

The pediatric dentistry course aims to provide the student with the theoretical notions and practical examples to prevent, intercept and treat dental anomalies and pathologies in children from birth.
As part of the course, the student will be able to acquire knowledge of the main odontostomatological pathologies of pediatric patients, congenital or acquired, acute or chronic, with particular regard to carious and gingival pathologies, dental traumatology and malocclusions.
Particular emphasis will also be given to the oral manifestations of systemic diseases and to oral surgical conditions and to early onset odontogenic pathologies.
Provide the appropriate knowledge to implement the prevention of tooth decay, periodontal disease and malocclusions.

Course Prerequisites

From a preparatory point of view for understanding the course, it is considered essential to go into detail of the topics concerning embryology, physiology, general odontostomatological pathology, focusing attention on the growth and development, both physiological and pathological, of the entire stomatognathic system.
