Rural-Urbanism-Architecture. Design strategies for small towns development

The book describes methodology and results of a research project carried out by the Research Unit of University of Pavia with the title, "Regeneration and renewal of rural landscape. Design strategies in the surroundings of new urban centres", through the program PRIN 2009 - Research Project of National Interest - granted by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research. Four Italian universities compose the National research framework with research’s title: "Architecture as Heritage: innovative instruments for the tutelage and the improvement of the minor local systems". Within this National framework researchers from University of Pavia contribute, deepening the theme of regeneration of the rural landscape, with particular focus on architectural design and urbanism. Hence, the book with six chapters is divided into three parts, revealing the three stages of the research project.
