abstract:
A contrastive analysis is carried out with the aim of showing the difficulties that arise when translating from a Germanic language into Romance language. Specifically the paper puts forward the hypothesis that the Germanic conflation can be reduplicated i translation only when the matrix verb contains a feature of force, as is conceived in Cognitive Linguistics, i.e. with reference to the theory of Image scehmas.
