abstract:
In in vitro experiments, exposure to mercury compounds (inorganic mercury or methylmercury) caused elevation of intracellular calcium levels in rat lymphocytes. This effect may have a role in the mechanisms underlying the immunomodulatory and immunotoxic properties of mercury.
