Quantum connectionism and the emergence of cognition

abstract:
The contribution argues that the emergence of cognitive abilities can be accounted for only by resorting to quantum theory. Accordingly it is proposed a new quantum neural network model, by showing, though suitable simulations, that its behavior evidences long-range correlations not present in classical models of artificial neural networks
