Behaviour in high magnetic fields of fine-mesh photodetectors for fast time-of-flight detectors

abstract:
The performance of fine-mesh Hamamatsu photomultipliers with 1, 1.5, and 2 in. diameters has been measured in magnetic fields (up to 1.2T) to determine gain and timing properties. Rate capabilities have also been studied.
