abstract:
This article offers a brief overview of the Principles on Choice of Law in International Commercial Contracts, formally approved by the Hague Conference of Private International Law on 19 March 2015. As a non-binding instrument, the Hague Principles affirm party autonomy as the core-principle for the choice of law in international contracts with the aim to promote future legal development at national, regional and supranational level and also to strengthen legal certainty and predictability in the field of cross-border commercial transactions. One of the most innovative features, is that the Hague Principle pave the way for the designation of non-State law.
