Anti-transglutaminase-6 (TG6) IgG antibodies, but not anti-TG6 IgA antibodies, can be used as markers of coeliac disease when the other antibodies usually associated with the disease are negative. Anti-TG6 are detectable in patients with or without ocualr motor cerebellar signs, and should not be used as a marker of gluten ataxia
