Fluorescent Chemosensors which Take Profit from the Metal-Ligand interaction

Chapter
Publication Date:
1997
abstract:
Fluorescent sensors for transition metals like Cu(II) and Ni(II) are shown, that are built with the F-S-R approach (fluorophore-spacer-receptor). Fluorescent sensors for the d10 cation Zn(II) are also discussed, together with the use of the molecules with complexed Zn(II) as sensors for anions. All the discussed examples are based on the coordinative interactions between a metal cation and a polydentate ligand, or between a coordinatively unsaturated metal complex and a further anionic ligand.
