Contenuti
The course will outline the main organisational and lexicogrammatical features of academic and popular genres. The first part of the course will be devoted to academic writing conventions. The second part of the course will be devoted to a particular type of popular writing, i.e. art audio description (AD) for people who are blind or visually impaired. It will focus on the notions and the (meta)language of (dis)ability, inclusion and accessibility. It will provide a definition of art AD, and illustrate its main textual and linguistic specificities and writing conventions. Some e-tools for text analysis and self-editing will also be presented as an aid to critical text analysis and writing.
