The course aims to equip students with an understanding of key theoretical frameworks, research themes and empirical evidence surrounding innovation in Africa, emphasising its potential to foster economic development, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. It also explores the role of public policy, and the modes of governance of transformative innovation. The course encourages active engagement and critical thinking, through interactive lectures, group discussions, and case study analyses. Prof. Kraemer-Mbula is available to give a public talk within the framework of the 100 years Anniversary of the DSPS. Morever, within the Anniversary framework Prof. Kramaer-Mubula will be one of the participants of an international workshop about Building Innovation Capabilites to fight inequalities in the Africa to be organized in collaboration with prof. Chiappero (TBC).
