Obiettivi Formativi

The course aims to provide the knowledge and tools necessary to understand the complex dynamics between international organizations, states, and other global actors. The focus is on how international order (or disorder) influences these relationships, with a particular emphasis on international security. Through case studies, the course seeks to develop students' critical analysis skills regarding the role and tools that Intergovernmental Organizations (IGOs) have in trying to prevent and resolve international crises. By the end of the course, students will be able to understand the functions and objectives of international organizations and apply the acquired competencies to the analysis of contemporary events. Finally, thanks to a practical, 'field-based' approach, students will gain awareness of the operational challenges and difficulties that arise in complex international contexts, learning to adapt their objectives and actions to the realities they would face in the field.
