MLO.1 Knowledge & Understanding. You will be able to explain pathological mechanisms, features of injury and repair, causes of pathological changes, disease processes, and their clinical relevance.
MLO.2 Application of Knowledge You will be able to apply concepts of general pathology to explain disease progression and interpret pathological changes.
MLO.3 Autonomy of Judgement. You will be able to make informed judgments on complex pathological processes and reflect on shared mechanisms like inflammation and immunopathologies.
MLO.4 Communication Skills. You will be able to clearly communicate pathological mechanisms and present pathology findings in writing.
MLO.5 Learning Skills You will be able to navigate lectures, practicals, and digital resources, integrating pathology with related disciplines for academic and clinical development.
Prerequisiti
The prerequisites are indicated in the Integrated Course Syllabus for BOD. For the module of General Pathology, a basic knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, molecular and cellular biology, genetics, anatomy, and histology is recommended.
Metodi didattici
Teaching methods include lectures, interactive discussions, and guided independent study. Lectures present key concepts (supports CLO.1, CLO.2) and include interactive discussion of clinical cases (supports CLO.2-3), guided readings and the e-learning platform (supports CLO.5). Teaching will include guidance to help you prepare for the exam (supports CLO.4) and throughout you will be presented with references to further readings and other materials to support your development (supports CLO.5).
