The course addresses clinical applications of biotechnology to screen, diagnose, and select treatments
Prerequisiti
Students enrolling in this course are expected to have a solid background in the fundamental principles of biology, chemistry, and biotechnology. In particular, prior knowledge in the following areas is required:
Cell and Molecular Biology: understanding of cell structure, gene expression, and molecular mechanisms regulating cellular functions.
Human Physiology and Biochemistry: familiarity with the main metabolic pathways, blood composition, and physiological regulation of the circulatory system.
Genetics and Immunology: basic concepts of genetic inheritance, molecular diagnostics, and immune system components and functions.
Basic Laboratory Techniques: experience with common molecular and biochemical laboratory methods, including nucleic acid and protein analysis.
