The course introduces students to the design of the refurbishment, strengthening and reuse of heritage buildings, for which a conservative approach is considered necessary. The project must therefore be preceded by a careful study aimed at knowing the physical consistency of the building, the residual levels of performance of the constructive elements, as well as the compatibility of new uses or new requirements of the same destination with the existing architecture, in order to respect morphological, structural and functional aspects of building system.
